FSB Launches National Petition - KEEP TRADE LOCAL
The FSB has launched a national petition to ‘Keep Trade Local'. Hosted on the 10 Downing Street website, the petition calls the Prime Minister to secure the future of small shops across the UK and safeguard the choice and competition that people expect in the market place. To halt the closure of 50,000 businesses between now and 2015
Robin Lawrence, Regional Chairman
The Thames Valley region started of the year in very good shape. We already have 60 events planned for 2008.
Our membership figures for 2007 exceeded our expectations and we fully expect to build on that during 2008. Retention of members have been above the national average for most of the year and we believe this is due to our commitment and success to supporting small businesses across the Thames Valley.
We have represented small businesses in a number of key areas across the region including Bucks Economic Partnership, Reading Economic Group, Oxfordshire Economic Partnership as well as meeting with many MP's and local authorities to ensure the voice of small businesses in considered when key decisions are made.
This year we have a regional planwhich will help us to focus on the issues that matter to our members.
